Winner of an AIC Australian Crime & Violence Prevention Award

We’re proud to announce that the Australian Institute of Criminology has awarded Safe2Say a 2025 Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Silver Award.

Safe2Say helps victim-survivors and witnesses of sexual assault safely connect with the WA Police Sex Crime Division, providing a vital pathway to justice. In its first two years, the platform has facilitated over 2,000 reports and more than 200 charges, giving people a voice when they might otherwise have stayed silent.

The trauma-informed design and two-way encrypted chat function in Safe2Say allows victim-survivors to share their story in their own words, maintain control, and receive specialist support all while maintaining anonymity.

Recognition like this reinforces that technology, when guided by empathy and integrity, can transform the way communities access justice and support. It also complements the 2024 WHS Foundation Psychosocial Health Award that Safe2Say received last year.
